Connect With Others

More than anything, in our work we have found that backcountry skiers have a deep sense of community. We are bonded by our common passion, our love of the glide, the float and the down. Many of our inquiries are for finding others to connect with, to ski, explore and enjoy company along the way. Here are a few ways we came up with, for people to find themselves connecting to share our sport.

What’s App

There is now a What’s App group, for the purpose of meeting fellow skiers, finding ski buddies, sharing conditions, and offering and exchanging gear! This group is public, and is monitored by its administrator only. Use at your own risk; Superior Highland Backcountry assumes no liability for use of this platform.

Ski and Tea

The idea here is to gather on Sundays from 12-4 to, well, ski and have tea. The host brings a big thermos and cups! Let us know if you want to host in your area and we can announce it in our newsletter or post it on our website; you could post it on Facebook or What’s App as well.

Map Your Ascent

This is a super cool tool, you map your ascent and post notes about your trip. Check it out, use it, and find others’ postings! https://www.powderproject.com/trail/7001894/ascent-to-finland-glades

Opportunities with SHB

We think the best way to connect with others is to join us! We have volunteer glading parties each fall, and are currently looking for more regular volunteers in fundraising, events and outreach, and membership. Please contact us through our Volunteer Form if you are interested.

In addition, we host events throughout the year, where you can meet us and meet others in the backcountry ski community. For everything from a film festival to introductory classes, sign up for our newsletter and check our website to stay tuned for details.

We want to build a vibrant online community for our friends and donors.
